Sealing ductwork in site-built homes can
reduce energy waste by as much as 20 percent. Chelan County PUD
offers a $500 rebate for duct sealing in existing
homes.
Contractors performing the work must be certified by
Performance Tested Comfort Systems
(PTCS), a regional program promoting quality installation of
high efficiency heat pumps and duct sealing to ensure
energy savings and comfort.
Benefits of PTCS duct sealing include:
- Reduced energy waste
- Increased year-round comfort, especially in
rooms that are too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter
- Improved air quality
To be eligible for the rebate, the ducts in your home must be in the attic or crawlspace.
PTCS technicians are trained and certified to seal leaky
duct work to ensure that the HVAC system delivers conditioned
air where it's needed inside the home, not to the attic or
crawlspace. Find a PTCS contractor. Have your
contractor fill out this form
at the time of installation, then submit the form to
Chelan County PUD.
Rebate applications must be submitted within six months of duct-sealing project completion.
Your contractor will bill you for the duct sealing. You'll receive an incentive check in the mail from the PUD.
