The Chelan-Douglas Regional Port Authority (CDRPA) received four proposals on May 16, 2022, in response to a Request for Proposals (RFP) submitted on behalf of the Chelan Public Utility District (PUD) for purchase and redevelopment of its current Fifth Street headquarters campus. The list of four was narrowed to two by the PUD Proposal Review Task Force with a recommendation to the PUD Commissioners. The Proposal Review Task Force includes: The Wenatchee Downtown Association, the City of Wenatchee, the Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Chelan-Douglas Regional Port Authority, and the Chelan PUD. The PUD has established a tentative schedule for making a decision about a redevelopment team for the Fifth Street property:

  • May 26 and June 14 - Proposal review
  • June 6 - Presentation to PUD Commissioners
  • June 20 – Short list recommendation to PUD Commissioners
  • June 21 – July 1 - public comment period
  • June 22 – Community Advisory Group Review & Comment
  • July 5 - Presentation & Discussion from YMCA and Music Theatre of Wenatchee to the PUD Commissioners
  • July 6 – 8 – Evaluation Team update recommendations based on public/steakholder input
  • July 18 – Staff Recommendation to PUD Commissioners
  • July 19 – Staff inform proposers and detail next steps
  • September 19 – Recommendation to PUD Commissioners on a Redevelopment Team
  • October 3 – Selection of successful redevelopment team
  • October – December – negotiations and contract
  • December 19 – Final Commission approval
