Our Strategic Plan

We're planning again - this time for 2020-2024

In 2015, we adopted a five-year strategic plan after a vigorous public outreach process with our customer-owners. Our purpose was to identify how our actions as a public power utility could accomplish our mission statement to enhance the quality of life in Chelan County.

Once again, we’re calling upon our customer-owners to provide informed input and guidance as we plan Chelan PUD’s future. We want to share what has changed since we wrote our existing 5-year Strategic Plan – and what we’ve already achieved – as we chart our course for 2020 – 2024.

2015-2019 Strategic Plan

In October of 2013, Chelan County PUD began a conversation with our customer-owners about how our actions as a public power utility could enhance the quality of their lives. This was a new chapter in our journey toward achieving the "ideal" of public power’s commitment to service, stewardship, and customer satisfaction.

Chelan PUD exists because our customer-owners had a vision more than 75 years ago to create this utility and entrust it to a locally-elected Board of Commissioners. The vision for this effort was defined by our Board of Commissioners, who recognized this strategic planning effort as a potentially historic opportunity for the entire county to make informed choices about the future direction of this utility. We began by asking a simple question: How could we create the best value, for the most people, for the longest period of time? Because we work for our customer-owners, we believed this question should be answered by everyone.
