DanLegard_webDan Legard started his new job recently as Chief Financial and Risk Officer at Chelan PUD.

Legard joined the utility after 21 years at the City of Kennewick, where he served as the deputy city manager and Finance Director. Legard also served as president of the Washington Finance Officers Association (WFOA), as well as chairman of the Board for the United Way of Benton and Franklin Counties.

A certified public accountant, Legard began his career in public accounting after earning an accounting degree at Western Washington University.

Legard is originally from the Tri-Cities area. He has coached a variety of youth sports, including boys and girls AAU basketball, t-ball, soccer, and Cal Ripken baseball. He and his family are excited to be in the Wenatchee Valley.

“I have a lot of confidence in Dan as our next CFO and I look forward to him carrying on and expanding on the great work under Kelly Boyd,” said General Manager Kirk Hudson.

Boyd retires on Jan. 12 after serving at Chelan PUD for 30 years, including 13 years as chief financial/risk officer. During her tenure, Boyd provided strong financial leadership through a recession, helped reduce debt, and moved the PUD into a strong financial position as one of the few utilities in the nation rated AA+ by Fitch and S&P Global, and Aa2 by Moody’s Investors Service.
