Blewett Pass Fiber Update

UPDATE on the Fiber Network Expansion project in the Blewett Pass area

WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW – Work on the main electrical line:

• Chelan County PUD crews are performing final construction activities on the main line (backbone) of the electrical system and new fiber network system in the Blewett Pass area.
• We anticipate construction activities on the main line will be completed in August 2024.
• Old poles will be removed after communications wires are transferred to the new poles.
• Transferring wire and removing old poles should be complete by the end of 2025.

WHAT’S NEXT – Work on individual service connections:

• Later this year, PUD engineers will begin working with our partner service providers on individual service orders and connections.
• We anticipate individual connections will begin this fall and continue through the end of 2025.
• If you have already submitted an order with one of our service providers, your request is already included in our work plan.
• If you have not submitted an order and are interested in fiber service, please visit our website to see a list of our partner service providers in the area
