Energy Conservation
Place the faucet lever on the kitchen sink in the cold position when using small amounts of water; placing the lever in the hot position uses energy to heat the water even though it never reaches the faucet.

Why conserve?
Both Chelan County PUD and its customers benefit from efficient use of energy. At times, the PUD must rely on outside power to supplement its hydro resources, particularly in the winter heating season. Energy saved in homes and businesses reduces the need to purchase higher-cost power on the wholesale market. This in turn helps keep local electric rates low.
Greater energy efficiency makes the most of national energy resources, reduces energy shortages, lessens our reliance on energy imports and minimizes pollution.
