Chelan County PUD’s Public Power Benefit program was adopted to allocate funds into community-minded projects. These plans include, among other initiatives, the expansion of access to fiber internet throughout Chelan County.
Utilizing Public Power Benefit program funds and following the guiding principle, “the best value for the most people for the longest time", the District is expanding fiber to communities and neighborhoods providing broadband access to fiber-optic services.
Since 2014, the Public Power Benefit program has made fiber internet available to more than 5,000 premises in the following greater areas, as well as major network expansion in those same county areas:
