Electrical upgrades happening now along N Dryden Rd.
What
Chelan County PUD will perform electrical upgrades on the wood poles and overhead power lines along N Dryden Rd. from Main St. across Hwy. 2 and onto Josephine Ave. The work is needed to upgrade aging equipment and maintain reliable electric service in the area.
When and what to expect
- Work began in mid-June and will continue for approximately 4–6 weeks.
- Working hours are generally Tuesday–Friday, 7 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
- We anticipate periodic, one-lane, flagger-controlled traffic throughout the duration of the project. Please watch for signage in the area.
- All existing poles in the project area will be replaced with new poles.
- New holes will be dug near existing poles, new poles will be set, and new wiring will be hung.
- Landscaping that is blocking access to electrical equipment (poles/vaults) and is in the public right-of-way will be permanently removed. We do not expect to disturb landscaping on private property.
- Crews will restore the area at the base of the new poles to improve aesthetics.
- Old poles will be removed after communications wires are transferred to the new poles.
- Transferring wire, removing old poles and restoring the area around the base of the poles should be complete by the end of the year.
- Power outages may be needed. Affected customers will be notified prior to any outages.
