ComfortPlus is a free program from Chelan PUD that helps income-qualified customers lower their energy bills through home upgrades that boost energy efficiency.

Designed for households most affected by energy costs, ComfortPlus covers the full cost of qualifying improvements to make homes more comfortable and affordable year-round.

How it Works

1. Check Your Eligibility

Apply for Chelan PUD's 25% Bill Discount Program to verify your income.

2. Home Energy Assessment

If eligible, we’ll schedule a free in-home energy assessment at a time that works for you.

3. Energy-Saving Upgrades

CLEAResult will coordinate with local contractors to install the upgrades you're eligible to receive.

ComfortPlus Frequently Asked Questions

No. ComfortPlus is free for income-qualified customers with a high energy burden — meaning their household income is disproportionately impacted by energy bills compared to other Chelan PUD customers.
The ComfortPlus program is available to Chelan PUD customers who live in a home primarily heated by electricity and have a household income at or below the Federal Poverty Level. The electricity bill must be in the name of the person living at the home.

CLEAResult will do a home energy assessment to help determine which ComfortPlus upgrades you may qualify for.

The length of time it takes to schedule a home energy assessment varies depending on staff schedules. We will discuss current scheduling expectations with you during your initial call and can give you a better sense of the timeframe.
The installation timeframe varies based on each unique home and contractor availability. That said, we typically see upgrades happen within 2-3 months after the initial home energy assessment.
Potential upgrades include HVAC systems, insulation, windows, air sealing, electrical upgrades, and heat pump water heaters depending on the home.
CLEAResult is the company that Chelan PUD contracts with to administer the ComfortPlus program.
