Chelan County PUD’s all-new Discovery Center at Rocky Reach Dam is open Tuesday – Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Join us for free, hands-on exhibits and edu-tainment. Fun for all ages!

Upcoming Events and Programs

    Salmon Festival
    September 17-19, 2026
    Community Day Saturday, September 19 | 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. | FREE

    This year’s theme, “We Are River People,” celebrates the rivers that connect our communities, sustain salmon and shape life throughout the Columbia River Basin. Salmon Festival is hosted at Rocky Reach in partnership with Chelan PUD, Friends of Northwest Hatcheries and the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery, along with tribal educators and dozens of agencies, organizations, exhibitors and volunteers who bring the Festival to life each year. Playground, Park Shelters and Special Events

Adjacent to the Discovery Center and powerhouse are 17 acres of award-winning lawns and gardens, playground equipment, picnic shelters, arboretum, turbine exhibit, horseshoe pits and pergola. Fun awaits!

Field Trips and Class Visits

The Discovery Center is designed to inspire and challenge students of all ages. Learn about Centrifugal and Centripetal Energy, Open and Closed Circuits, Electromagnetic Spectrum, Center of Gravity, PSI and Hydrostatic Pressure, External and Internal Fish Anatomy, Columbia River History, Magnetic Energy and more!
