WHAT & WHY:
The existing Matthews Rd water main is nearing the end of its service life. Chelan County PUD has contracted with Smith Excavation to replace the main and help ensure safe, reliable water service. The new main will be installed along Matthews Rd.
WHEN & WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Schedule: Construction is expected to begin in mid-October and continue for approximately 2 weeks.
- Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–5 p.m.
- Traffic: Matthews Rd will be reduced to one lane during work hours, with restrictions to local traffic only. Both lanes are expected to reopen after work hours.
- Water Outages: Brief outages will be necessary as properties are connected to the new main. Affected customers will receive advance notice.
- Construction: Expect excavation, construction equipment, noise and temporary delays. Disturbed gravel roadway areas will be restored when work is complete.
