What Type of Thermostat Will Work in Your Home?It depends on your home's heating system. Central AirA smart thermostat will work in homes with centrally ducted resistance furnace or heat pump. Zonal HeatingA line-voltage thermostat will work in homes with electric resistance zonal heating (baseboard, wall heater, ceiling radiant, or fan-forced air). RequirementsAll new line-voltage thermostat must meet the following requirements: Have a digital display Be electronically line-voltage type Have a thermistor temperature-sensing element that is accurate to within 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit or better Be UL- or CSA-listed for use with their application (e.g., fan-forced, baseboard, wall, or ceiling radiant) LVTs that are programmable must maintain temperature and program settings during power failures and have a temporary override feature. New line-voltage thermostat must replace the existing thermostat, except in new homes.Communicating model LVTs must be on this qualified product list. Ready to Apply?
