Looking for a free family adventure this Halloween season? Grab the kids and head to Rocky Reach Park and Discovery Center for the Fall Harvest Roundup from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24.
Costumes are encouraged for an afternoon of festive fun, including hayrides, trick-or-treating, games and two performances by L-Bow the Clown. Kids can test their skills by tossing a lasso, exploring a corn maze, racing in relays and digging through a haystack to find a fish. Along the way, they’ll learn about the Columbia River ecosystem and clean, renewable hydropower.
Decked in its fall finest, Discovery Center will host a three-floor scavenger hunt that spans all of its hands-on exhibits. Steer a steamship, crank a generator, step inside a tule house and, if you're lucky, spot salmon swimming past the fish-viewing windows.
When it's time for a snack, Mama D's Café will be serving affordable favorites like hot dogs, chili and nachos in the park.
Admission is free. The park and Discovery Center will open at 1 p.m. following event setup, with gates ready to welcome guests for an afternoon of fall memories.
Plan your visit: Rocky Reach Park is located seven miles north of Wenatchee on Highway 97A. After the event, the Discovery Center will continue regular hours from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
