The Rocky Reach Hydro Project is located in North Central Washington on the Columbia River, about seven miles upstream from the City of Wenatchee. By river, the dam is 215 miles below the Canadian border, and 473 miles above the mouth of the Columbia at Astoria, Oregon.
On Saturday, September 29th, Rocky Reach Dam guides and staff will lead you into a turbine pit, on the generation floor, and across the transformer deck to provide you with a better understanding of Hydroelectricity in our region.
These are 90-minute, in depth, behind-the-scenes tours, for guests ages 12 and older, who are comfortable walking 1 -1.5 miles with quite a few stairs.
Tours are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and pre-registration is required. Call (509) 663-7522 to reserve your spot, as space is limited.
We hope you’ll join us for this fun look into a hidden gem of Chelan PUD!
