WHAT & WHY:
The existing water main serving your area is approaching the end of its service life. To maintain safe and reliable water service, Chelan County PUD has contracted Smith Excavation to install a new 5-foot-deep and 700-feet-long water main along Circle Street, between Miller Street and Saddle Rock Trailhead (see highlighted section on the map).
WHEN & WHAT TO EXPECT:
Start Date & Duration: Work is scheduled to begin September 8th and will continue for approximately 3 weeks.
Working Hours: Construction will typically take place Monday through Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Traffic Impact: During working hours, traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by flaggers, with stoppages lasting up to 20 minutes. Both lanes will be open outside of working hours.
Water Outages: Water outages will be necessary when the service is switched over to the new main. You will be notified in person or via a door hanger with specific details prior to the outage.
Construction Activities: Chelan PUD contractor, Smith Excavation, will excavate a trench in the roadway to install a new water main. Upon completion of the installation, Chelan PUD contractor, Moe Asphalt, will restore the roadway by replacing the asphalt. Expect construction noise during the work period.
