Cheer on Hydropower & Enter to Win Seahawks Tickets

by Kimberlee Craig | Sep 28, 2018

Test your hydropower savvy and enter the drawing for a pair of Seahawks tickets at Chelan PUD’s annual celebration of the benefits of being a customer-owner of your hometown power player.

Pssst, here’s a hint: Rock Island Dam was the first hydro project on the Columbia River. The rest is up to you, but it’s all easy.

Drawings for the tickets and a personalized tour of Rocky Reach Dam including lunch are just part of the fun planned for the Hydropower Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 6.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., kids of all ages can check out a PUD’s line truck, build a paper model of a dam, hear what it’s like to be a lineman and create their own Japanese fish print.

Entry for the drawing for two tickets to the Dec. 10 Monday Night Football Vikings vs. Seahawks game or the Rocky Reach Tour starts Monday, Oct. 1. To enter, do one or all of the following, by 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct 6. The more you do, the more chances you have to win.

  • Visit a Chelan PUD park, snap a pic and post to either Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, tag @ChelanPUD and add the hashtag #damcool – 1 entry
  • Post a video of yourself or your kids talking about why you love Chelan PUD and public power, to either Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, tag @ChelanPUD and add the hashtag #damcool – 3 entries
  • Visit us at our Hydropower Celebration at Pybus Public Market between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, and complete a short entry by answering a few questions about hydropower – 5 entries

Winners will be drawn and announced by Friday, Oct. 12.

As part of the celebration, we’re thanking our customers for supporting public power with doughnuts and cider. Stop by our Leavenworth office from 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, and our Chelan and Wenatchee offices, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5.

Join us Saturday, Oct. 6, at Pybus Market for the scoop on why carbon-free hydropower is, well, dam cool!
