Firefighters make camp at Chelan Falls Park, closed to public

by Rachel Hansen | Aug 20, 2021

Chelan Falls Park will temporarily close to the public starting today as a Type I incident management team establishes a fire camp associated with the Twenty-Five Mile Fire.

The 33-acre park will house between 250-400 fire personnel for about two weeks, depending on fire conditions. The closure includes the boat launch, swimming area, sports fields and picnic shelters at Chelan Falls Park.

The boat launch at Beebe Bridge Park, located across the Columbia River from Chelan Falls, will remain open. Chelan PUD offers 14 other parks to explore, including Chelan Falls Powerhouse Park, Chelan Riverwalk Park and Manson Bay Park. For information, visit chelanpud.org/parks.
