The Chelan PUD Board of Commissioners wants to know: what attributes do you want to see in the next general manager?
The Board of Commissioners recently began a nationwide search for a leader to take the helm after General Manager Steve Wright’s contract expires at the end of the year. For Board President Randy Smith, customer-owner feedback is a critical component of this process.
“Our single biggest responsibility, as Chelan PUD commissioners, is the hiring of a general manager,” Commissioner Smith said. “So, we need to know: Are we missing anything? Are we headed in the right direction?”
Chelan PUD received important feedback from customer-owners during the 2019 strategic planning process. That input now guides many important decisions at the utility. The PUD is reaching out to customer-owners, once again, as the Board of Commissioners ramps up the recruitment process. In particular, the Board would like to hear:
- What attributes would you like to see in a new general manager?
- What do you see as some of the key issues facing the PUD in the next several years?
You can submit responses online at www.chelanpud.org/survey. If you prefer a hard copy of the survey, please email your name and address to email@example.com.
Comments will be open until June 15, at which point the Board will incorporate the feedback into their search.
“We five Commissioners will commit to reading every submission we get,” Commissioner Smith said. “This is your chance to have your voice heard.”
