Stehekin Tree Trimming

A Chelan County PUD contractor will perform tree trimming and vegetation management in the Stehekin Valley. The work is necessary to continue providing safe, reliable power and decreases the risk of potential fire. Visit our Tree Trimming page for more information about the PUD’s vegetation management program.

What to Expect

  • Work is scheduled for Monday, May 6 through Thursday, May 23
  • The crew will work 7-days per week from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • The contractor may be working on trees on your property
  • Arborists have been inspecting trees that have grown close to the overhead power lines and these trees will be pruned a safe distance away from the lines
  • Hazard trees can have structural defects, heavy leans, infestation, root rot, and other defects – these trees will be marked with orange paint or ribbon and cut down
  • Free wood chips will be available to dump in 10-yard piles
  • Chips can be dumped on your property when the crew is working in close proximity
  • If you are interested in wood chips, please talk with the tree crew directly or contact Bob Nielsen
  • Bill Sanborn, PUD Arborist, will be in Stehekin April 23-24 to inspect the work
  • If you would like to talk with Bill or meet him on site, please contact him at bill.sanborn@chelanpud.org or call 509-661-4508
