Downtown apartments are made for simple, efficient living

A cup of craft coffee, a concert or movie, a delicious meal. They’re all within footsteps of renovated downtown Wenatchee apartments.

Location was a key factor in developer Michael Fleming’s decision to revamp the upper level at 112 N. Wenatchee Avenue into six apartments. They're situated above the Seattle Yoga Lounge and Café.

Photo of Mike FlemingFleming’s renovation is a good example of how an old building – first established as a hotel in 1912 -- can be made new again. Fleming restored the upper level into bright, modern living spaces that maximize energy efficiency while keeping some of the old charm, such as brick walls and skylights. 

The units range from 300 to 500 square feet. All but one are studios; the one-bedroom unit offers a street view.

Fleming updated plumbing and wiring, installed new windows, replaced sawdust insulation and added energy-efficient ductless heat pumps. Chelan PUD rebates covered part of the cost.

“I wouldn’t have done the ductless heat pumps without PUD rebates,” Fleming said. “The rebates really helped.”

PUD rebates also helped upgrade the heating system in the retail space downstairs.
