Maple Street utility work

What & Why

The City of Wenatchee has started a roadway improvement project along Maple St. from N Western Ave. west to the canal. To accommodate those improvements, Chelan County PUD must move the existing electrical line from overhead to underground. A PUD contractor is currently trenching along the roadway so that PUD crews can install conduit and wire underground. Once this work is complete, PUD crews will remove the five poles located along the roadway and energize the new line.

What to Expect

  • Trenching work is expected to be done by the end of the month
  • Once PUD work begins, it is expected to last about two weeks
  • Working hours are generally 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Work will take place in the highlighted area on the map below
  • You will see contractor and PUD crews in the work area
  • Please use caution when driving in the work area
  • A power outage will be needed when the new underground line is energized
  • Affected customers will be notified with details prior to any outage
