Safety upgrades at Manson Bay Park bring partial closure

by Kimberlee Craig | Mar 22, 2019

Extending the concrete stairs and adding handrails will close a section of the swim beach at Manson Bay Park from April 1-12.

Contractor Jason Sanderson of Chelan will do the work, estimated at $25,000.

Engineer Court Hill said the work will fix erosion over the years that has undermined the lower steps and reconfigure the beach to reduce erosion in the future. The new handrails will increase accessibility.

Manson Bay Park is owned by Chelan PUD and managed by Manson Parks and Recreation. Signs letting visitors know about the partial closure are in place at the park and flyers with information are being posted around the community.
