CONTRACT RATE

The Contract Rate for this position is $34.43 per hour. This position is not eligible for benefits. In accordance with the Washington State Paid Sick Leave Law, you will accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours actually worked.

JOB DURATION

This position does not include guaranteed work hours. Work is sporadic and intermittent as needed, often scheduled with short notice. It is anticipated that the incubment will work around 8 hours per month, subject to change depending on operational needs.

JOB POSTING

JOB PURPOSE:  
Assists the operations attendant with the operation and maintenance of Stehekin Electric Facilities and is responsible for ensuring facilities are clean and in good operating condition.

#  EF/SF % of Time Job Functions
1. EF 60%  Assist with minor maintenance or emergency repairs of generation station and equipment, roadways and trails, and vehicles. Isolate distribution system problems and read meters

2. EF 40%  Assist and at the direction of the operating attendant, operate district vehicles and equipment.

3. SF Ongoing Drive a motorized vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the District.

4. EF Ongoing  Maintain regular and predictable attendance:  Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.  Comply with District policies.  Complete all required training. Maintain a working knowledge and comply with District safety procedures and specific safety requirements of this position, and those in accordance with applicable provisions of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and Washington Administrative Code (WAC).

Post-Secondary Education:                        
Level 1: No post-secondary education required

Experience: 
Typically requires experience working in an industrial setting. Experience troubleshooting and repairing generation station and equipment is preferred.
Also requires CPR Certification and valid First Aid card six months of hire  

Specific KSA's: A fully skilled incumbent will have the following specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge
• Must have working knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity. 
• Working knowledge of Generation and Distribution equipment
• Must be knowledgeable of safe work practices.
• Requires the ability to understand the technologies used in the work.   
• Must have knowledge of Stehekin, the environment and how the community communicates and supports one another.

Skills & Abilities:
• Ability to direct work in a variety of situations.
• Demonstrated ability to work  independently and responsibly
• Strong  problem solving ability using facts and personal judgment
• Ability to react quickly in emergency situations and make decisions that involve a great amount of money or safety of others.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Ability to safely work within the environment that impacts Stehekin.
• Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently. 

Language Skills: 
Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English.                 

Computers & Equipment: A fully skilled incumbent will have the ability to utilize the following software, hardware, or equipment:
To perform this job successfully, an individual is required to have basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook,  General Office Equipment, Heavy Equipment, Hand tools/power tools, Telephone and radio, and Trash rack, ropes, ground keeping tools such as mower, weed eater, etc.
