CONTRACT RATE

JOB POSTING

JOB PURPOSE:                        
The incumbent will perform industrial janitorial services which include but aren't limited to cleaning, buffing floors, washing windows, cleaning picnic shelters and restrooms.  Greet public and provide visitors with information when required while performing regular scheduled duties.  The incumbent may perform work functions individually or with the assistance of other assigned personnel.  This position is expected to work a day shift, including weekends and holidays.

JOB FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function of the job satisfactorily.  Essential functions (EF) are those activities that, if not performed, would significantly and fundamentally alter the position. 

#  EF % of Time Job Functions
1. EF   55% Clean and perform general house keeping duties in the museum, visitor center, CTC System Operations control room, picnic shelters, restrooms, fourth floor gallery, visitor center office, and other locations to ensure safe and sanitary conditions.

2. EF   20% Arrange meeting rooms and exhibit displays.

3. EF   15% Greet public and provide visitors with information when required.

4. EF   10% Drive a motorized vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the District.  Note: Students under 18 may not drive more than 20% of any work week.

5. EF    Ongoing  Maintain regular and predictable attendance.  Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.  Complete all required training. Maintain a working knowledge and comply with District safety procedures and specific safety requirements of this position, and those in accordance with applicable provisions of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and Washington Administrative Code (WAC).

Post-Secondary Education
No post-secondary education required

Experience:                        
Requires one (1) year janitorial experience and experience working directly with the public.  Industrial cleaning experience and/or working at a hydro generation facility is preferred.

Specific KSA's: A fully skilled incumbent will have the following specific knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Knowledge
• Basic knowledge of chemicals and storage

Skills & Abilities:
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Must be self motivated
• Ability  to work safely and efficiently with chemicals.
• Must posses or obtain within six (6) months of employment, current forklift, First Aid and CPR certifications. 
• Ability to follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.

Language Skills: 
Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.
                          
Computers & Equipment: A fully skilled incumbent will have the ability to utilize the following software, hardware, or equipment:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and be able to safely operate power equipment such as commercial grade carpet cleaners, buffers, floor scrubbers and hand held tools.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

A valid driver's license is required for this position (verified upon hire).  A valid Washington State driver's license is required within 30 days of employment.

BACKGROUND SCREENING

Some of our utiltiyperson openings require a background screening. Pursuant to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards, Chelan County Public Utility District #1 conducts background screening of personnel who have access to the District's critical physical and/or cyber assets.
