Our employees are respected and valued. We're building a workplace that supports diversity and reflects the multicultural community we serve.
We mix the coveted values of small-city living with the big ideas of a trend-setting utility. We are building a successful wholesale fiber-optic system that has attracted folks like Yahoo! We created the first habitat conservation plans for hydropower to protect fish. We are upgrading the first dam ever built on the Columbia River so it will be reliable for another 50 years. As one of the most innovative utilities in the country, Chelan PUD rewards the contributions of its 700-plus employees. We're proud of our long-standing reputation as one of the best places to work in the area, and we seek talented people to keep us moving forward.
We employ a broad range of talented people – line workers, administrative support, information technology specialists, mechanics, wiremen, customer service representatives, accountants, biologists and engineers, to name a few.

While clean, renewable hydro energy remains at the heart of our business, we’re expanding into solar and wind power and are being called on to provide regional guidance on climate change issues. We’re exploring exciting ways of generating renewable energy while remaining committed to prudent energy and water conservation.
Part of the hydropower generated at Rocky Reach Dam has been certified for trading by the Chicago Climate Exchange to offset greenhouse gas emissions from other sources. The Lake Chelan Hydro Project is certified by the Low Impact Hydro Institute (LIHI), an important step toward possible participation in green energy markets.
Habitat Conservation Plans for our two Columbia River dams commit the PUD to having no net impact on the young salmon and steelhead passing our dams on their way to the ocean.
Put your skills to use for a public utility that cares for the environment and is owned by its customers to create a brighter future for yourself.
