See what there is to discover. Free weekly programs will be held at Rocky Reach Visitor Center starting in mid-June and running through early August. Taught by Visitor Center staff, these classes are tailored for the grade-school scientist. Come, learn and enjoy.

June 21 - Waves and Rays
Discover the world of waves and rays: micro, radio, gamma, ultraviolet, x-ray, infrared.

June 28 - It’s a Fishy World
The Columbia River is a fishy place -- and it’s more than salmon. It’s Pacific lamprey, sturgeon, shite, northern pike minnow and more. Learn about them all: what they eat, how long they live, how big they get, are they predator or prey, best way to catch them and are they good to eat?

July 5 - Magnetic Levitation
Touch, feel and experience the world of magnets and levitation. Discover North Pole, South Pole and why magnets repel and attract.

July 12 - Water Moving
Understand the miracle of moving water. Know how water turns from solid to liquid to gas. Grasp the hydrologic cycle and join our team as we build a miniature hydrologic world.

July 19 - Atoms to Light Bulbs
Exploring atoms and the atomic theory; electrons and the sub-atomic theory – discover how fast they move and what they can do.

July 26 - A Salmon’s Story
Learn all about him: where he is born, how he moves, where he goes, what he does, what he eats, how long he lives, how big he gets and why he is so important.

August 2 - The Power of the Sun 
How big is the sun? How many earths can fit inside the sun? How hot is it? How important is it? What does it do on its own? What can we do with its power? Discover the sun and solar power!

August 9 - Summer Science Picnic
Our end of the summer picnic with food, fun and hands on experience of all the things we learned over the summer.
