How can I find out about PUD job openings?
Click on “Current Openings” on the Careers page. Click “Sign In” (existing user) or create an account with us as “New User”. If you would like to create a job alert, first click in the “Search Jobs” and type in a job title, location, or keyword, then click the ‘arrow’ to search. Once you have done so there is an option on the next window to “Save Search,” this will set up an email alert that will be sent to you with the subject line you save the search as. You can then find the position on the current openings page and apply for the position on your profile.
Is it important that I have the minimum experience to apply for the position?
Yes. Chelan PUD abides by federal and state laws when advertising and recruiting for an open position. For the Chelan PUD to be fair, equitable and consistent, all positions posted provide information regarding the minimum requirements for experience and/or education. When applying for a position please pay close attention to ensure that your experience and/or education meets the position’s minimum qualifications/requirements. In most cases, experience can substitute for education requirements (for example, an associate degree and two years of relevant experience or four years of relevant experience). If your experience and/or education do not meet the minimum requirements, your application will not be considered for the position.
Can I leave my resume at the lobby or send it via email?
No. Chelan PUD only accepts a combined PDF cover letter and resume through the application process online. We do not accept resumes or cover letters submitted by mail, fax, or e-mail (unless necessary for an alternative application process previously discussed with recruiting).
What happens to my application after I click submit?
Provided you meet the minimum qualifications, screening questions, and any other requirements (such as a cover letter); your application information is forwarded to the appropriate hiring manager on or after the first review or closing date. Typically, applicants are contacted for a position if selected to interview in the following weeks after their application has been reviewed. Although the hiring process typically takes four to six weeks, it may take longer due to a variety of factors.
Does the initial screening date really matter if the job states it is open until filled?
Yes. The initial screening date is very important as that is when the initial applicant reviewing process by the hiring manager begins. If you apply after the first review date, your application may not be reviewed promptly.
What if there isn’t a closing date on the job posting?
The position is considered open indefinitely and can be closed at any time. It is recommended that you apply for positions before the initial review date to avoid missing an opportunity.
I’m getting an error message, what should I do?
Clear your Internet browser cache by going to the “Tools” option on the toolbar and selecting “Internet Options.” From the “General" tab in the window, select “Delete Files” and click "OK". Repeat this step but check the box “Delete all offline content” and then click "OK". Then, close all your browser windows, open a new browser window, and try again.
