Lace up your dancing shoes, ease into those stretches and set your sights on getting to the Senior Damboree on Saturday, Sept. 10 at Rocky Reach Dam.
- Enjoy basketball free throw, bean bag bull’s-eye and trivia competitions
- Listen as the Applaires serenade visitors at noon
- Get drawn into a do-si-do during square dancing with the Appleland Promenaders at 2:30 p.m.
You can chat with health care and other vendors who provide services for a mature audience including the Veterans Administration, Aging and Adult Care, Confluence Health, Lifeline Ambulance, local retirement and assisted living providers and community groups such as YMCA and the Humane Society. You also can stroll the Rocky Reach grounds at your own pace and enjoy the beautiful landscaping and great river view.
And, you can leave the driving to LINK Transit. Link is offering free shuttle service to and from Rocky Reach Dam. Rides will start at 9:30 a.m. and run every half-hour from the senior center parking lot, 1312 Maple St. in Wenatchee, to the Park and Ride lot at Olds Station (on Penny Road) and on out to the dam.
This is a new partnership with Wenatchee Valley Senior Center, LINK and the Visitor Center for the second annual Damboree.
PUD staff will shuttle visitors who drive out on their own from dam parking lots to the activities.
Mama D’s Kitchen at Rocky Reach will be open with indoor and outdoor seating for a late breakfast or lunch service.
For more information about the event call the Visitor Center at (509) 663-7522 or check the event details on www.Facebook.com/VisitRockyReach.
