Andrew York Lineman Rodeo
Andrew York was struck by a drunk driver while working as a lineman for Chelan PUD. To honor Andrew’s memory, Chelan PUD, together with other local utilities and supporters, created the Andrew York Memorial Lineman Rodeo.  Linemen from around the Northwest test their skills in competition at the annual rodeo which is dedicated to increasing public awareness about the senseless deaths and injuries caused by impaired driving.

Helping Hand
Chelan PUD employees and customers help low-income families pay their electric bills by donating to our Helping Hand program. Helping Hand funds are managed by the Chelan-Douglas Community Action Council.

United Way
Chelan PUD employees open their hearts and wallets each year during the United Way campaign. We care deeply about our community and generously donated $37,245 in 2008 to support United Way charities in our community.

Make a Difference Day
America's largest day of doing good, Make a Difference Day, is the fourth Saturday in October. On the nation's largest single day of volunteerism, Chelan PUD employees join more than 3 million people who turn out to help thousands of others.

Relay for Life
Cancer touches many lives and Chelan PUD employees join in an annual fun-filled overnight event to celebrate survivors and raise money for research and other programs for the American Cancer Society. Leading up to the event we host bake sales, golf tournaments and other events to raise thousands of dollars for this vital cause.

Holiday turkey drive
In honor of a former employee who started the practice of providing holiday food baskets and a visit from Santa for needy families, Chelan PUD continues the tradition by raising money with a charity golf tournament and an annual appeal to employees.
