PUD names Janney as executive manager of finance and risk

Chelan County PUD has filled a new combined finance and risk position with a familiar face.

John Janney will be the new executive manager of Finance, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Risk Officer (CRO).

Janney, 46, served as executive manager of risk and CRO at the utility until August when he left for a position at Highland Energy in Montana. He is returning to take over the combined jobs in finance and risk for a salary of $200,000. His first day of work has not been set but will be before the end of the year, according to Randy Stedman, executive manager of Human Resources at the PUD. Janney was one of 13 applicants for the position.

PUD General Manager Rich Riazzi said “I am pleased that John has made the decision to join the Chelan PUD team. I am confident that John will immediately contribute to the overall success of the PUD."

The PUD decided in September to combine the finance and risk positions as part of a larger reorganization. The move leaves the PUD with five executive managers, down from seven before the reorganization.

Janney holds a master’s degree in quantitative finance and has worked extensively in the energy industry. He has also held positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.
