Commissioners approve 5-year-term for notes
Chelan County PUD
News Release
11/17/2008
PUD commissioners:
- Ratified and confirmed the terms for the more than $55 million worth of consolidated system notes that were sold Oct. 28 to provide funds that will pay for distribution system improvements over the next three years. Commissioners had approved a 2-year-term for the notes, but as financial markets improved, the PUD was able to get nearly a 5-year term, with notes maturing on July 1, 2013.
- Extended the closing date to Dec. 31, and waived a requirement for a Chelan County issued conditional use permit prior to closing on the purchase of a 9.5-acre parcel of land. The land will be used for a switchyard to support the future Entiat transmission line. The conditional use permit is in process and expected to be issued in early 2009.
- Revised the 2008 capital budget for an overall increase of about $200,000 in District spending.
- Authorized paying $450 in conference registration fees to send commissioner-elect Carnan Bergren to the Washington PUDs Association’s annual meeting in December.
- Thanked Werner Janssen for his four years of service as a PUD commissioner.
- Will hold a special meeting at noon on Nov. 18 with local state legislators in the PUD boardroom to discuss the upcoming legislative session.
