Riverfront Park boat launch to close one day

Repairs at the Wenatchee Riverfront Park boat launch on the Columbia River are scheduled Thursday, Oct. 30, and will close the launch near the foot of Orondo Avenue for the day.

The project was rescheduled from earlier this month.

Pipkin Construction of Wenatchee will repair two sections at the end of the pavement on the launch that were damaged by prop wash from boats. Working from a barge, the contractor will excavate, shape and fill the two sections with rock as part of the $25,000 project.   

Wenatchee Riverfront Park runs along the Columbia River in downtown Wenatchee and is owned and operated by Chelan County PUD under recreation plans required by the federal license to operate Rock Island Dam.
