Surplus vehicles to be auctioned June 13

Chelan County PUD
News Release
6/6/2008

Chelan County PUD and Grant County PUD will host a public auction of surplus vehicles at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 13, at the Grant PUD office in Quincy, 27 B St. S.W.

This is the second time the two PUDs have worked together on a vehicle auction. More than 100 vehicles, from passenger cars to bucket trucks to heavy equipment and boats, will be sold. Bids can be made in person and online through auctioneer Chuck Yarbro at http://www.yarbro.com/index.cfm/fa/home.main.htm.

Gary Lentsch, Chelan PUD fleet manager, said working with Grant PUD provides a bigger selection for potential buyers, and with more interest, generates better returns for the PUDs and their customer-owners. The first joint auction was in 2006.

“Online bidding really works,” said Lentsch. “It’s a great way for a small business to get started or to expand its fleet.”

Chelan PUD vehicles are considered for surplus sale at 10 years old or 100,000 miles. Lentsch and Ron Melcher, Grant PUD fleet manager, will be at the auction to answer questions.
