Malaga customer wins conservation basket
Beth Shaw of Malaga won a basket of energy- and water-saving items from Chelan County PUD in a random drawing at the North Central Home Builders Association Show in February. The basket was filled with practical household items including compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) in several wattages, a motion-sensitive light, spray foam material for sealing cracks around doors and windows, weatherstripping, a gauge for judging the watering needs of plants and lawns, a timer for irrigation hoses, and a book filled with ideas to improve home energy efficiency.
Shaw said she had never used CFLs before but was anxious to try them. CFLs use about a quarter of the electricity used by standard incandescent bulbs.
Congratulations, Beth!
