Greater Wenatchee Arbor Day to be celebrated Saturday, April 5

Chelan County PUD
News Release
3/24/2008

Celebrate the power of trees at Arbor Day tree seedling distributions in five local communities on April 5.

Come learn how to “plant the right tree in the right place” by browsing displays and talking with arborists and master gardeners. Choosing the right tree for the location helps protect nearby power lines and transformers and lessens the need for pruning.

Hands-on activities are planned for children, including leaf printing and take-home seed planting.

This year’s Wenatchee Arbor Day celebration is planned for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Riverfront Park ice rink in Wenatchee at the foot of Fifth Street.

Other tree seedling distributions sites on April 5 are:

Local Arbor Day sponsors include Chelan County PUD, Ballard Ambulance, Cascade Auto Center, city of Wenatchee, C&O Nursery, Pepsi, Van Well Nursery and The Wenatchee World.
