Tree in line interrupts power

Several hundred Chelan County PUD customers lost power early this morning after a tree fell into a transmission line carrying electricity to Coles Corner, Plain and Lake Wenatchee. The outage was reported about 1:25 a.m. Thursday and power was restored to all customers by 4:20 a.m. 

Following initial reports of the outage, PUD crews found and removed a tree in the transmission line near Winton that sends power to three PUD substations in western Chelan County. It's not known what caused the tree to fall into the line, said Randy Noland, PUD Leavenworth superintendent.
