Power restored to west Wenatchee

Chelan County PUD
News Release
1/16/2008

Power was restored at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday to all Chelan County PUD customers in west Wenatchee affected by an outage that began earlier in the day.

Several hundred homes and businesses served by the College Substation on Fifth Street in Wenatchee lost power about 6 a.m. Wednesday. Power was restored to most neighborhoods by 6:45 a.m.

As power was being restored, a problem with a fuse on lines serving about 100 customers along Skyline Drive and Number Two Canyon Road developed, which took more time to repair.

The initial outage affected customers from Cherry Street north to Maple Street and from Poplar west to Canal and Number Two Canyon. Power was restored to many by switching electric service for those areas to the Saddlerock and Western substations.

Crews are still investigating the initial cause of the outage at College Substation, but it does not appear related to this morning’s low temperatures.
