Outage cuts power to west Wenatchee neighborhoods

Several hundred homes and businesses served by the College Substation on Fifth Street in Wenatchee lost power about 6 a.m. Wednesday. Power was restored to many neighborhoods by 6:45 a.m.
Crews estimated it could be 10 a.m. until all customers are back in service. Efforts are focused on customers up Number Two Canyon and along Skyline Drive.
The outage affected Chelan County PUD customers from Cherry Street north to Maple Street and from Poplar west to Canal and up Number Two Canyon. Power was restored by switching electric service for those areas to the Saddlerock and Western substations.
PUD crews will also continue to investigate the cause of the outage.
