Daroga boat launch closed Oct. 5-26

Chelan County PUD
News Release
9/26/2007

Improvements for the boat launch at Daroga State Park on the Columbia River will require closing the launch from Oct. 5- Oct. 26.

Blodgett Construction of Malaga will rebuild both ramps at the launch under a $144,860 contract. The launch was built in the mid-1980s ,  and one of the ramps has been closed because of wear and tear.

The new ramps will use concrete panels that lock together into a metal frame, reducing erosion from river flow and prop wash. The same method was used to rebuild the launch at the PUD’s Rock Island Hydro Park last year.

Daroga State Park is located on the east side of the Columbia River on Highway 97, about 18 miles north of Wenatchee. It was built by Chelan County PUD under recreation plans required by the federal government as part of the PUD's licenses to operate the Rocky Reach, Rock Island and Lake Chelan hydro projects and is operated by state parks .
