Hearing set to declare surplus property

Chelan County PUD commissioners intend to declare the site of the former Worthen Substation in Wenatchee surplus to District needs at their regular meeting at 1 p.m., Monday, July 30, in the board room at 327 N. Wenatchee Avenue.

Once declared surplus, the board plans to exchange the 0.23-acre site on Worthen Street, just south of the foot of Fifth Street, with the city of Wenatchee for a 1.08-acre parcel next to Lowe’s on Walla Walla Avenue.

The Walla Walla Avenue site will be used for construction of a new substation to meet the demands of growth in the area.
