News Release
6/29/2007

Rocky Reach Visitor Center will offer a free program July 12-13, spotlighting local wildlife, plants, and Native American life.

The hands-on program, which is for children and adults, includes a day of classroom learning and guided walk through the Horan Nature Area at the Wenatchee and Columbia rivers’ confluence.

Taught by a Chelan County PUD biologist, other PUD staff, and Choctaw Nation member Roger Amerman, students will learn about the importance and benefits of native habitats and open space for wildlife and people.

Amerman holds a bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Oregon and two master’s degrees, one from Washington State University in natural resource science, and another from the Colorado School of Mines in geology.
