Some PUD bills to reflect change in meter-reading schedule
Chelan County PUD
News Release
4/27/2007
Beginning next week, many Chelan County PUD meter-reading routes will change, and some customers will notice a change in their bills.
Electric and water bills may show a billing period longer or shorter than normal. In most cases, these changes will occur only once.
Customers on the PUD’s Equal Pay (budget) plan may see their payment amount change because of the change in the billing period. Those who pay through automatic credit card or checking account deductions may be billed on a different date than in the past. For example, if an automatic payment used to be made on the 10th of the month but in May it occurs on the 20th, the payment date for future months will be on or around the 20th.
Again, in most cases, these changes will occur only once. Equal Pay customers and those who use automatic deduction were sent letters about the bill changes.
Automated meter reading technology added to water meters in 2006 is allowing water and electric meter-reading routes to be combined, increasing efficiency.
There will also be a new line on PUD bills for a surcharge, but there is no surcharge at this time.
There is more information about the bill change on the PUD Web site, http://www.chelanpud.org/, under “Customer Service,” or contact Customer Service Director John Stoll at 661-4539 or john.stoll@chelanpud.org.
