Rocky Reach Visitor Center will open for the 2007 season at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 17.
New this year is “Experience Chelan County.” The video takes viewers on a trip up the Columbia River, with historical stops at Rock Island, Rocky Reach and Chelan dams. It also explains how power gets from a dam to your light switch and the PUD’s role in fish protection.

Managing Lake Chelan levels Managing the level of Lake Chelan is a balancing act, and changes that come with the new operating license reflect that.
For 2007 operations, runoff is forecast at 114 percent of average, said Scott Buehn, power resource engineer. That will help meet power-generation needs and fish and recreation needs. “We’re ahead on water for the year, which is a good thing,” Buehn said.
