The third in a series of public meetings on the future direction of Chelan County PUD will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 19, at the Confluence Technology Center in Wenatchee. PUD customer-owners and community members are encouraged to attend.

At this meeting PUD managers will discuss a wide range of operating parameters and their impacts on the financial health of the District.

Among those factors planned for discussion are:

The impacts of decisions on those issues, and others, are important considerations in setting the PUD’s financial strategy for at least the next five years.

At the first two strategic meetings General Manager Rich Riazzi reviewed the PUD’s financial past and looked at forecasts for the future. He discussed gaps in revenue that have developed and how those will likely grow if the PUD continues to rely so heavily on revenue from surplus power sales.

“We hope people will come and participate,” said Riazzi. “We have worked hard to take a comprehensive look at all the factors affecting our financial picture the next several years. These will be crucial decisions the board will make for the future of the PUD.”

Following the March 19 meeting, commissioners will continue to seek feedback as they prepare for future strategic sessions where the board will align policies, services and action plans.
