Fiber-optic services available to 441 more homes in Wenatchee

Fiber-optic construction is complete to an additional 441 Wenatchee homes. These homes are now ready to receive services from authorized service providers over Chelan County PUD’s open access fiber-optic network.
The 441 homes with new network accessibility are in these areas:
- On McKittrick, Elmwood and Pershing streets
- On Second, Third and Fourth streets between Elliott Avenue and Princeton Street
- On Danawood Drive and Michael Place
- On Orchard Avenue and First Street between North . Miller and Dana streets
High-speed Internet and telephone services in these areas are available by placing a Fiber Connection Request with an authorized service provider. For a complete list of service providers, visit www.chelanpud.org/fiber or call 661-4151.
Fiber-optic lines use a hair-thin filament of glass to carry pulses of light to transmit high-speed Internet, telephone and television (television will be available in 2005).
Chelan County PUD’s fiber carries all services over one single fiber, providing the convenience of one local contact, one bill and savings on bundled services.
High-speed Internet and telephone services are now available from local service providers to more than 6,918 homes and businesses over the Chelan County PUD fiber-optic network. Please contact Chelan County PUD Fiber Optics department at 661-4151 with questions.
