The first phase of construction of Chelan County PUD’s Co-location Center is complete. The new center is in the lower level of the state-of-the-art Confluence Technology Center.
Space is now available in 26 cabinets, with additional space available in Chelan County PUD’s Co-location Center based on demand. The Port of Chelan County also has about 8,800 square feet in the Confluence Technology Center available for future co-location development as the market demands it.
The Co-location Center includes redundant high-speed Internet connectivity, uninterruptible power, climate control, fire suppression, disaster readiness and multi-layer security including biometric thumbprint access control.
“Chelan County PUD’s Co-location Center is a world-class facility with raised floor, 24-by-7-by-365 controlled security access, fire suppression, diesel generator backup and it’s conveniently located next to the fiber network’s operations center,” said Project Engineer Bob Shane.
This first phase of co-location construction was completed in two months at a cost of $175,000. The Confluence Technology Center is located at 285 Technology Center Way, Wenatchee, Wash.

Chelan County PUD is building a wholesale fiber-optic network to homes and business in Chelan County. More than 8,000 homes, businesses, schools, hospitals and government offices now have an affordable choice for high-speed Internet and telephone services, with television coming in 2005. All services are offered through the convenience of local service providers.
