Chelan County PUD experienced an outage on its fiber-optic network at 3:00pm today, June 7.  The outage affected data and Internet services to both Service Providers and end users. The outage did not affect telephone services offered over the fiber network.

Data and Internet services were down for a period of approximately 1 1/2 hours. Network equipment which routes data traffic required troubleshooting and resetting to resume normal operations.

Chelan County residents and businesses can expect to have service resume to normal following this outage. If you have additional questions please contact your service provider.

Chelan County PUD is building a wholesale fiber-optic network to homes and business in Chelan County. Fiber access has been built to more than 9,000 homes, businesses, schools, hospitals and government offices.  These users now have an affordable choice for high-speed Internet and telephone services, with television coming in 2005.
